Enemy Taunt
Enemy Taunt is a character skill in the game For The King.
Description
Force enemies to attack player and gain a small armor and resistance boost.
Effects
Enemy Taunt is an active skill that allows a character to use the Taunt ability during combat. This ability will draw the attention of all enemies in battle, and any affected creatures will ignore other party members and instead focus their attacks on the taunting character. Moreover, any enemies attempting to flee will be goaded back into combat.
Enemy Taunt will only trigger Taunt on a perfectly rolled stat check, with a -5 penalty to accuracy.
Defensive bonuses
A character who is actively taunting an enemy will additionally gain a small temporary defensive stat boost to their armor and
resistance, in an amount equal to their current level. This effect lasts for the duration of the taunt.
Kiting
Enemy Taunt can be useful in drawing area-of-effect damage away from other party members by "kiting" an enemy's attack focus to the edges of the party. Because the center party member will be involved in all area-of-effect and splash attacks, it can be beneficial to taunt enemies to one side, thus minimizing the damage to the center character and mitigating the damage to the other side entirely.
Ways to acquire Enemy Taunt
Innate
There are currently no characters in For The King with Enemy Taunt as a core skill. However, the skill is a common attribute found on a variety of shields, making it likely that any heavily-armored characters will eventually equip Enemy Taunt at some point during their adventures.
