The Royal Mines is the third adventure in
For the King 2. The adventure features a new mechanic involving a moving minecart that deals damage to any creature that's in the way and can be stopped with the use of
Powder Kegs. Players must split up and take care of the many minecarts on track to destroy the various ports of Fahrul.
Chaos Mechanic
- "A Minecart will spawn at one of the three entrances. Prepare to intercept it." - The minecarts will deploy from their origins when they arrive on the timeline. Players will have several rounds to destroy the minecart while they are active. If all of the minecarts reach their destination, the chaos pool will fill and the adventure will be over.

Strategies
- The minecarts can go in various directions but will take the nearest path to their destination. You can determine the destination by clicking on the icons in the Quest tracker.
- Most minecarts will travel 4 hexes at a time, some will travel 6 hexes. Keep track of which is which by paying attention to the timeline.
- Minecarts will push a player out of the way if they are in the cart's path when it moves, dealing a small amount of damage in the process. Be sure to plan your moves wisely to make sure you are not accidentally caught in the path.
Powder Kegs have a 1 tile radius, any player in that area at the time of the detonation will take heavy amounts of damage. Place the kegs on the path of the minecart but make sure you have enough movement points to move yourself out of the keg range.
Powder Kegs when placed will take 4 turns to detonate, or will detonate on impact.- The Royal Mines may be entered as soon as all Resistance members are sought out, however it is recommended to level up your character to at least level 7.
- The Town in the Swamp will have a quest for "?????". Activate this as to progress several quests related to unlocking Grimshaw and the secret room.
- Slippery Pirates and Silver Snakes will drop keys to unlock the various dungeons throughout the map. Ensure that you bring a
Pierce weapon as these creatures have 100
Armor and 100
Resistance and only has 1
HP.
