Weapons are the main source of damage in For the King 2 Combat.

Overview

Weapons are the tool of an oppressed people and the people of Fahrul have had more than their fair share... Which may go on to explain the incredible variety of the available tools of destruction.

Weapon Cards

Weapon Cards display all of the important information needed to determine the best equipment for a character. Damage, weapon type, skills, and more are displayed with more in-depth information available upon inspection.

When rolling to attack with a weapon each successful roll will increase the damage output. This is true for some spells, however, other spells require perfect rolls to ensure they activate correctly. Missing with a magical attack or ability is referred to as a "Whiff".

Different weapons and abilities will have a variety of area of effect (AOE) attacks such as splash, cleave, and column attacks. Each of these will hit enemies in a different pattern on the battle grid with degrading efficacy outside of the initial target.

The lands of Fahrul contain many different weapon types that allow for the protection of your lands to the devastation of your foes. Swords, axes, magical tomes, boomerangs, firearms, and so much more.

It's important to ensure that the weapon type matches the party member to ensure the best results on the battlefield. For example, Pathfinder is strong in Talent so they are best equipped with Talent based weapons such as boomerangs and whips; the Blacksmith specializes in Vitality and tend to work best with axes and hammers.

Weapon types vary as much as the skill they roll against. A players attributes will determine how successful they are at wielding each weapon type.

Along with attributes, it's important to note that weapons can be one-handed, or two-handed. One-handed weapons tend to have less skill rolls to be succesful and allow for the player to also equip a shield. Two-handed weapons tend to be more difficult to roll against and take up two equipment slots.

Materials

Weapons also come in a variety of materials that will enhance certain attributes on that specific weapon. For example, iron-based weapons will improve critical chance, oak-based wooden weapons have higher attack damage, most weapons found throughout Fahrul will have a certain material type.
